On-page SEO is a type of SEO where all the measures and techniques take place within the website to improve the website traffic in the Search Engine Result Page (SERP). There are some factors and elements that are used on the website to optimize and improve the website traffic organically.
On-Page SEO Factors
The major important elements that we need to check in the on-page SEO to publish.
- Title tag
- Meta title and description
- Internal & External links
- Image optimization
The title tag is an essential SEO factor in the SEO because based on the title only the viewers and crawlers can easily know about the content inside without going through it. The title tag should be in the format of an H1 tag so that it attracts the viewers to get into the topic and the title tag should have a keyword in the title because it will be easy for the search engine bots to understand the topic to index and set up a rank for it in the SERP.
The information about what is going to be in the blog can be placed as a title under the title tag as an H2, H3, and H4 tag. The H2 tag should have a keyword or similar words to the keyphrase to attract the audience and the crawlers. A good blog with better content can have up to two H2 tags but not more than that. The subheadings that come under the H2 tag can be used as an H3 tag.
While the crawlers index the webpage, the first thing they start crawling is to check the webpage URL. So, the URL should be in a better format for the crawlers to easily understand the content inside the page.
The content written on the page has some keywords as an advantage to easily get indexed. Like that, if the URL has a keyword on that, then google bots can easily know about the content inside and index easily to get the page on SERPs.
The keyword is the context of the phrase that shortly explains the content of the page. With a highly searched keyword in the webpage, the possibility of a webpage is high to get on the front pages of SERPs.
The keywords should be included in the title tags, URL, H2, and H3 tags, post tags, the alternative text of the image, and meta title & description to get more traffic for the webpage as well as the website.
Meta Title And Description
The meta title is the title that shows on the Search Engine Result Page with the description below the title that explains the content inside the webpage and that description is called the meta description.
The meta title should have about 60 characters with a keyword in it, so the viewer can easily know about the topic. And with the keyword in the meta title, there is a possibility for the blog or webpage to get into the initial pages of SERP when the searchers use the similar or same word in the search box.
A good meta description should have about 160 characters with keyword-rich components in the content.
Internal & External Links
The links we provide help to improve the link juice and for some words or phrases, the audience will have confused about the phrase or don’t know about the things spoken in the phrase. So, for that, we provide some links for the audience to get to know about the thing which we spoke about in the blog.
The internal links are the links that connect the page in the website with another page on the same website.
The external links are the links that connect one website page with the different pages of the different websites.
Optimizing an image is one of the factors to increase website traffic. Optimizing an image has some advantages of faster webpage loading, better user experience, and also have the chance of getting a good rank in the SERPs. Unique images are the best for SEO because of the copywrites issues. Using other images also affects the rank of the website.
The image placed on the webpage should have the title as the file name because search engines like Google use the URL as well as the file name of the image to understand the image.
The alternative text (Alt text) is the essential factor in using images on a webpage because if the image failed to load on the webpage, then the alt text provides the information about the image for the crawlers to understand. Mostly the crawlers won’t do an index on the image if the image doesn’t have an alt text in it.
